Book Ockham's Razor

If your crowd loves Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly, they'll love Ockham's Razor.

But we come at it from the other direction. The band was founded by expats from Glasgow and Newcastle, and we play the tunes we grew up with on whistles, pipes and accordion, driven by a rock rhythm section at full tilt.

Short bio for listings (copy freely): Ockham's Razor is a five-piece Celtic rock band founded by Glasgow and Newcastle expats in the Pacific Northwest. Traditional Scottish and Irish tunes on whistles, pipes and accordion meet a driving rock rhythm section. In 2026 they toured with The Young Dubliners and headlined the Seattle Highland Games.

Questions

Before you ask

Where are you based, and do you travel?

We're based in the Seattle / Tacoma area and tour regularly across the West Coast, the Mountain West and the Northwest. Further afield? Ask us. We're actively routing 2027.

Headline or support?

Both. We draw our own crowd for headline shows and have supported touring acts including The Young Dubliners and Chasing Abbey.

How long do you play?

Anything from a 45-minute support set up to two full sets. Festivals can also book workshops or a traditional session.

What do you need from us technically?

A PA and a sound engineer. We bring our own in-ear monitor system and splitter, and we'll send a stage plot and input list in advance.

How far ahead should we book?

The sooner the better, especially around St Patrick's Day and festival season. Still, it's always worth asking about short-notice dates.

What does it cost?

It depends on the date, the travel and the type of event. Tell us what you're planning and we'll put together a quote.
